Mr. Carter Coleman
Carter Coleman is the founder and CEO of Agrica and the chairman of its Tanzania subsidiary, Kilombero Plantations Limited (KPL), a become East Africa’s largest rice producer since breaking ground in late 2008. KPL farms 5,000 hectares commercially and is raising over surplus.
Living in started the Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG), a widely respected community development organization. Pioneering participatory forest management in Tanzania, the TFCG now works in over 160 villages, has planted 15 million trees, trained 10,000 villagers in agro and protects some 2,900 km 2 of high Carter is a former journalist who re Africa, the author of two books and a magna cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University.
